Fallish Things

I fully intend to create a fully fleshed out post full of fallish photos in the future.  The future is not now, however.  The future is never now.

Now is the time where I give you three pictures that sum up my fall thus far.

#1: Doll and Jimmy

#2: Chicken and Apples

#3: Said Apples

I've been having a marvelous time taking pictures and editing and experimenting with composition and all that jazz, but it's kept me absent-mindedly aloof and distant from my blog.  So here are these pictures to hopefully let you into my life just a bit until my next post (of lengthiness).
What have you been doing this lovely month of September?

New Doll (From A Girl for All Time)

Although I would love to stay and chat for awhile, I'm spending my afternoon on the lake and I've got to run.  However, I decided I must stop by and introduce you to my new girl, Clementine, from the doll company A Girl for All Time.  Guys.  She can bend her elbows.  She's articulated.  I've wanted to do this pose on an AG for YEARS and now I have a doll I can finally do it with.  Yay!

And here she is with her dog, Oreo.  Love love love.  Cannot wait to take more photos! Do you have one of these dolls?  I believe the company makes six or seven.  I also have their 60s girl, Sam.

Sidewalk Chalk

Grace and Maryellen got a little carried away as they drew their figures on the sidewalk...

What sort of designs have you created on the pavement?  Have you ever drawn something lifesize?

Rollerskating in March

It was one of those really warm March days that just don't happen all that often.  I wanted to go swimming and made my way down to the pond.  The water was too cold to do anything except wade around, but just being able to do that reminded me that summer isn't an eternity and then some away.  I didn't exactly bring a change of clothes, so after I got out of the water, I took my roller skates and began skating around a nearby park, trying to dry off.

There weren't too many people around.  But then there was Gordie.

He's a guy I know a little from school.  I think we have math together or something--not really the type you notice when drooling through a boring lecture about angles.  But gosh.  I noticed him in the park.  He flew by on his skateboard and nearly knocked me over.

I tried to make myself be mad at him, but I couldn't.  He helped me up.  I was just in my swimsuit, and he looked at me, and I thought I'd die because I had no idea what to say.  But then he started laughing, and I laughed too, and it was okay.

We raced each other a few times around the park, and I knocked him off the road twice.  We traded mediums once.  He couldn't figure out the roller skates--they're my mom's from the 70s, and kinda weird to get the hang of.  I made fun of him, and he stuck out his tongue at me.

Then we walked up this hill and glanced over the park, with the pond near the bottom. Sitting down, we watched the sunset.  The cold started to really set in, and even though I was wearing my hoodie, Gordie draped his coat over both of us.  And then I could just feel him looking at me.

He smiled.  Then I smiled and looked back.  We sat under the fading sun, smiling, and talking, and then he took me home.

But I can still feel his eyes when I'm looking away.

Summer in February

I'm one of those kinds of people who is always looking forward to to future and never really able to say, "right now is cool, too."  So, I'm working on that.  And I'm getting better, because at this moment I'm eating an apple and I'm not dwelling on the past or the future.  I'm dwelling on my apple.  All is well.
However, I can't help but want summer.  Especially when I look at these pictures that I took last summer....

Yeah, I kinda wish it were July right now.

New GOTY Lea and her Sloth (the best pet in the world)

Hiya.  I have a sloth.  I am pleased with this sloth.  And if you don't have one, lo siento.
I ventured out on my annual trip to AGPSeattle yesterday morning with my parents to see this new girl who is 1/8 Brazillian.  She is beautiful.

But guys.  She isn't half so beautiful as her sloth.

Since when has AG decided to make unconventional pets?

It seems as though they have devoted all of their pet researchers to investigate dog, cat, and horse owners.  Nevermind all of the reptiles and fish and birds that just happened to be owned by people too.  Chickens as pets are a real thing, AG.  They are real.

But back to the sloth.  Look at him.  Look upon his earnest gaze.  It's so...hopeful.

And Lea is truly stunning.  I thought I'd find her meet outfit too colorful.  And I did.  But once I desaturated it in photoshop, it looked great.

Honestly though, her combination of skin, hair, and eye color is certainly striking.

I'm also loving that she came with a bag and a necklace, as oppose to them being in her accessory set.

All in all, it was a spectacular release on AG's side of things.  I'm pretty happy with them.  What about you?  Are you going to do yourself a favor and buy Ernest the Sloth as well?  Because you should.  Really.
